Hey everyone, I thought it would only be proper to introduce myself and my bikes. The name is Paul and I'm from Champaign Illinois. I've been around
two wheels for most my life and have now built 3 motorcycles and I'm workin' on finishing number four and I just picked up a 1971 Honda CB750 on a
KILLER DEAL! So no it's time to start the brainstorming and get my plans together so I can execute this build nicely. I am actually trying to build REAL
DEAL CHOPS for a living so I figured what better bike to use than either an XS650 or a CB750... Well, I'm already building the XS650 for a good buddy of
mine so I'll have one of those close by that I can use for reference, and now I came across the CB750 that I'm going to build as an example bike to
show people what I am capable of. I haven't messed around with these hondas much so I figured this would be the place to come! I am still in the process of
learning a lot of things but I am willing to do whatever it takes to learn them the right way. Just as soon as I get a little bit better acquainted with the
site I will post pix of the Cb750 I picked up yesterday! The bikes I currently own are a hardtailed 1990 1200 sporty, a 1982 Yamaha SR250 Bratty (my low
budget/freebie build), a 2001 GSX-R1000 Street/strip drag bike, and now a 1971 CB750. The Harley and the Honda are here to stay, but in the near future the
Suzuki and the Yamaha are most likely going to get sold. So without further ado, let's get to chopping!

Thanks for the welcomes guys. I've been a member of TCU for a while now and I'm a huge fan of that forum! Some of the guys there referred me here for
help with the CB750. They said that you guys would be able to help me quite a bit more with that than most of the guys on TCU would be able to. So here I am.
Are there any things I should know about this forum? I know some forums tend to hold "unsaid rules" and/or certain ethics they all hold.. i don't
want to come in stepping on peoples toes! I'm here because I love the same stuff that you guys love and I know that most all of you have more knowledge in
the area of these hondas than I do and I need the help.

It's been too long since I've been around here! I have been busy as could be with current builds (XS650 I'm building for a buddy and getting my
sportster all tied up). I'll fill out my bio ASAP for the sake of the moderators and for those who are interested in reading it.
As for the CB that I got, it wasn't in Savoy, it was actually in the back of Fagens truck accessories. I walked in there with a buddy who was looking for some parts for his truck. We started chatting with a guy we used to go to high school with that currently works there and he asked if we wanted to see the CB750 he was obligated to sell due to previously existing debts. I walked back and offered him 400 bucks for it. He accepted after pondering it for a couple minutes. I ran and grabbed the cash, borrowed my buddies trailer, and came back to pick up the lil scoot! I recently picked up an old rigid frame for the bike along with a wide glide front end and a 21" front wheel, along with some other misc. stuff. the build should be on it's way in the next month or so. As of right now, I am collecting parts that I come across until these other builds are out of my hair! And thanks again for the welcomes!!! |

hey, what's up man. I live in Allerton near Homer, great to see another bike builder from around here, i always have ton of parts to swap so if you need
anything get ahold of me. also about 3 weeks ago a had a fire and my 750 chopper burned up. got a few guys from around the area comming down to help bring her
back to life, come on over if you would like , were gonna cook out, have a few beers, it's on Aug 22. landman and brumie are gonna come down. so get a
hold of me man, great to see ya on the site!
