New to Honda Choppers in Colorado |

Hello everyone, I am here cause I have just gotten ahold of a 1978 Amen Savior frame with a honda cb750. I have been trying to research things about the engine
and am not having much luck. Then I came across the hondachoppers site and so here I am. The main thing I am trying to find out about right now is the numbers
on the engine are cb750e-2524667 and I would like to know if these numbers tell the year of it, I have found all kinds of K's and F's, but no E's.
And the other thing I would like help with is on the Amen frame, there are springs ing the rearend and I would like to find out if I can replace them or not.
Anyone here that can help me would be great. By the way this is my first time trying to build a bike.

According to the timeline,it looks like your motor is a '76 F1,though I
could be wrong,it might be a K6.Looks like the 76 K's started with 7428762,while the 76 F1's started with 2515094....

you have a 76 motor, but it could be either a k or f...i dont know how to tell the difference on them sorry...
hahahaha sas and i posted same time..wow...i went back and ooked at the first timeline, and the k6 appears to start and stop in 240's,so i think you have a 76 f(supersport) motor...if i am wrong i will stand corrected...aw1

Thank you both I did look at that and it does look to be a 76. So its not the motor that came with the frame cause the frame is a 78. I did find the numbers on
the frame when I cleaned it off so I can repaint it. Well thank you all again and I will be back tomorrow to see fi anything else comes up lol

I agree with Sas and Asphalt that you have a '76 F engine. The 2 engines had two different starting numbers.
The F's started at CB750(*)-2515094 - according to the timeline. The '76 K's started at CB750E-2428762 - according to the timeline. Yours is cb750e-2524667 which would make it the 9573th '76, IMO. I dont believe that there was any overlap in the numbers. Honda made from 40,000 to 75,000 750's a model run(69-70 is one model even though it spanned 2 years). It looks like they made about 10,000 F's a year starting in '75. The 80K number was for 71 or 72. So, there is plenty of numbers for the K's before they started bumping into the F's higher serial numbers. Honda never published the ending numbers, so a lot of this is educated speculation. BTW, there are at least 2 very knowledgable 750 chopperhedz (Kikkiliker and UriahHeep) along with one of the top experts/restorers of early 750's (Dave Swan) in Colorado.

"it does look to be a 76. So its not the motor that came with the frame cause the frame is a 78."Nothing to be concerned about. The Amen Savior frames were an aftermarket frame,so they didn't come with engines anyway unless you were buying a custom built bike .........Ha! Ha!.You missed that one Lenny .............. Only Bikers understand why dogs love to stick their heads out the car window................. This is get guys now all I need to do is find rebuild kits for the engine. the frame is all ready for painting as is the tank. I am thinking of goin with a
diff. fork than I have and do away with the honda front wheel. What do you all think? The front wheel has the breaks and all inside and if I stay with front
breaks I was thinking of going with a diff. style thats not inside the wheel. Yes this is my first build so I will most likely be asking alot of questions and
asking for tips and advise.

there are alot of different wheels you can use,but most will require spacing and such to work...disc brakes are great for stopping power...you have a
spokewheel with a mini drum on i take it is what your saying?

Hey Don.
It sounds to me like your front end may not be a stocker ? Need to figure out what size axle your front end takes. That will let you know what your options are for a front wheel. There are usually many options for front ends depending on stem and neck size etc. Alot of guys have HD front ends on thier bikes as well as other Honda fronts like Goldwings etc. The limiting factor is your imagination as well as your pocketbook and fabricating skill. It's not overly important however I was told or maybe read somewhere that Amen stopped making the 750 frames in 72 or 73. I may be wrong about that though. One of the Old Farts on the board may be able to verify that. Your frame may be registered as any year depending on who did it and where. Oh yeah. Post links to some pics. Helps with identifying alot. Buttcan |

Thanks alot again guys all this is very helpful. and I have pics of it on bikepics.com under don80815 or you can look me up there under don darnell. I have
finished with the frame and tank except painting it. I might do some bondo work on the frame and fill in up by the neck and make it look solid. and it looks
like I am goin to have to find another 750 cause I was tearing the old one apart so I could clean it and get it ready to rebuild it and found out why it seazed
up. the person that had it when it was running blew a hole in it over the gear shift section of the tranny and tried to cover it up with some type of aluminum
and let alot of the broken pieces go into the motor itself. So now I either need to find another casing or a different 750
