Hello to all...
I have been lurking in the shadows reading post for nearly 2 weeks now and thought I would register and start posting my million questions that I have in my head. First let me say that I am an old Harley guy (hold off on the rock throwin just yet), not one that just rides with other HD guys but one that rides with anyone that will not endanger me or the people I ride with. Best friend rides an old 76 Triumph and my 15 year old son rides a 250cc metric bike so i'm not just bias to the harley bar and shields. I figure if you brave enough to through a leg over a scoot and get out here and put up with the dumbass drivers then my hats off to you, regardless of the brand.
Why I am here..... My soon to be 16 year old has been hounding me about building an old school bike. So I put the word out and within a few days I come up with a rigid frame chopper that was set up for a Honda 750. Come with 6 over front end thats a little rusty but functional. So I tell a guy at work what I am doing and turns out he has a complete 78 SOHC 750 kick/electric and a spare motor that has been sitting in the shop collecting dust for about 12 years. Found a king Peanut tank and just ebayed a king and queen. It will have apes on it. Need a 7 1/2 rear fender and we are off to the races.
Started searching for information on what I am doing and found this site and I must say that I am more than impressed at some of the information that is available from some very talented individuals. So if you dont mind I would like to tag along on this ride and see where it goes.
