Im aware that some people on the board have these, but I was wondering it they actually work well with points? they say they are 5ohms...arent stock 3ohms?
what affect would this have? I want to buy 2 of them, but hesitate on this matter.

Those look to be the same coils that Tommy had for sale in this thread. From
that I got 5ohms were good for stock setups and 3ohms for the suped up stuff.

Hmmm actualy from talking to ken at cycle xchance once I think it was something like 5 ohm were for dyno systems and 3 were for points could be wrong. But
I'd check into it more before purchasing.... Maybe give ken a call.

Other way around. 3 ohm for dyna/electronic and 5 for points. I've run that style coils on my chop with points for years. Dyna S will fry them over time.
It was Honda first, all through the middle, and if I have my way, till the end as well.
Most people say what they'll do. Very few actually do what they say. |

One more time for the slow witted. I'm running 836 with dyna coils and electronic ignition. I want to change to chrome coils. Will this hurt anything.
I'm willing to sacrifice a little performance for more chrome (somebody named this chromosexual).

Im using them..have been for years......(Remember) the posts are very fragile..brass and hollow inside so dont tork them down to tight or they will brake
You can't "Chop" when you keep adding crap...

The 5 ohm coils are likely going to run hot, and possibly burn out over time with the EI designed for 3 ohm coils. The 5 ohm chrome cans are for point system
HDs. They do make a 3 ohm version for HD EI conversions but they are a little more expensive.
Ward ran them for four years before they went on the fritz with his EI.
