Will pistons off a 1975 motor work for a 71 motor?

They are the same. 77-78 pistons have a different shaped top to make up for the larger combustion chamber. Also 77-78 have narrower ring grooves.

There were some variations along the years, but so long as you use the pistons as a set, they should work fine. Don't mix and match different year pistons.

They will work, but remember to get new cir-clips for them and you may as well swap the rings while they are out
