easiest way to unlock a stuck engine???? |
Lead | |
|
my dad has a 750 that is stuck like a duck. he has tried soaking the cylinders and the such, with no luck. the people he got it from said that it had been
locked up from sitting.............ok..........anyway he has tried the flywheel side and tried turning the nut and nothing. he has tried pulling the bike and
bouncing on it and no luck. He said he is about ready to junk it and say fuk it. Can "we" find another way that he might be able to get it unlocked?
I would hate too see a 750 go to the scrap yard......omg. Cause if it pisses him off bad enough, it will go. I need all the help he can get. Thanks in advance.

I've always has to take the top end apart when they were that stubborn, before I damaged anything else and it WAS junk then. You'll have a little more
room for persuasion then and with a little manipulation can get the head off and at the stuck rings.
People say what people say, it's what they don't that gets you. Locked up from sitting (out in the open with one intake and one exhaust valve open laying on it's side in the chicken yard with the goats). If he tries to send it to the scrap yard get it over to Street's for me and I'll pick it up next run up there or He and I will rip it apart together. Those are the engines I build my bikes from because I can no longer afford the prices ones that just kick over command, much less runners.
It was Honda first, all through the middle, and if I have my way, till the end as well.
Most people say what they'll do. Very few actually do what they say. |

What wasthe formula of the super duper unstucker? 50/50 mix of ATF and Acetone? DUmp in in those cylinders and see how it works, supposed to be the stuff that
works.

see he already took the valve cover off and there was a valve trying to stick, but he got that loose. He hasnt gotten the hear off yet....... then he was going
to try and maybe get the pistons to come through the cyclinders. But he is on a tight budget, and dont want to have a few 100.00 in to just getting it too run.
He is even thinking that maybe it has a broken rod and such. But not for sure until he gets the head and stuff off.
Just to let you know he is in Texas, bout 20 miles from where TexasRon used to live. |

I used the acetone ATF mix in my motor, it was stuck pretty hard. I let it sit for a couple of days then just put it in second gear and pushed it till it
broke free.

Texas, eh? That'd be a long push to Street's place methinks.
Call me funny, but an engine stuck that hard that is finally freed and run without rings and at least honing the jugs is more or less a "stranded on the side of the road" time bomb. Yeah, yeah, I know EVERYBODY runs those engines without a problem. Try 100K plus miles on a motor like that and then make the same claims and I'll be impressed, however, not moved to change my mind though.

Easier to get apart if things are at least rolling over tho, right? I got no idea where that is Steve, but there is a guy in Flower Mound name of Barney, and I
hear he is pretty good wit hstuff, if Dad gets too frustrated.

Where I read it, they put the solution in, some every other day for a week, at the end of a week, 2nd gear and rock it. I do believe I read it here.

Yup. The ninja tied to a 500lb land anchor.
